If you end up not liking Betaflight 4.6, forget which device is connected to which UART, want to carry over your PID settings, or simply want to be on the safe side, you should create a backup of your current configuration. To do this, go to the Presets tab and click Save Backup in the top-right corner. Store the backup in a location where you can easily find it again—or, even better, create a dedicated folder for this quad where you also keep logs, blackbox files, and other related data. Using the Load Backup button, the backup can later be restored in Betaflight 4.6.

In addition to the backup, it is still highly recommended to take screenshots of the most important tabs. Better safe than sorry. Especially useful are screenshots of the Ports, Configuration, Power & Battery, PIDs, Rates, and Filters tabs. Trust me—looking up the correct scale values for the ESC voltage or current meter later takes far longer than simply creating a few screenshots now.
