If you’re coming from an older Betaflight version and have a backup of your settings, you can restore it using the Presets tab and the Load Backup button. In many cases, though, Betaflight will show error messages when trying to apply the old backup. This happens because some commands may have changed between versions.

Scroll through the CLI (Command Line Interface) window and check which settings could not be applied. You’ll need to set these manually. It’s a good idea to take note or a screenshot of the settings that weren’t transferred.

If you don’t have a backup and are configuring your copter from scratch, you’ll need to go through all the following steps. It can feel like a lot of work the first time, but it will be much easier on the next builds.
